If this is the only thing causing you to stay away I say throw caution to the wind lol besides it's currently free on KU. The events of the mate finder series act as "world history" they are disclosed but detailed knowledge is not necessary.
This series works wonderfully as a standalone. If you're interested but worry you'll be lost bc you haven't read the series revolving around Anya's mother the mate finder, I'll relieve your worries by disclosing I haven't either. I rate this book a 3.5 & will continue this series. How much more you'd have to read the book to find out. What I thought would be a light fluffy romance turned into.
